So I currently have a JCM800, and I was wondering if there are any known ways to get more distortion out of it like different tubes, or a cheap mod. Any suggestions? My particular model has a high and low gain input, and a single channel that they run through.

Thanks,

I always liked a Ibanez TS9 TubeScreamer in front of the JCM 800.

The Digitech Bad Monkey works real well too for clean boost....I set mine with the level on 10 and gain on 0.....not as good as a TS-9 but very simular.....Also the OCD boost is awesome... :D

Welcome to the forum Rockman1. :tip:

I've heard good things about the Digitech Bad Monkey but never tried one.

It works real well for the money. It's nice for light to medium added punch without destroying your tone. Depending on which amp you use, you have to tweak it for that amp. I have DSL 50 watt heads and an old plexi 50 watt head, and the Monkey works great with master volume and non master amps as well.

It sounds like a decent pedal, I guess I'll have to check one out.
